Would be better if you separate each element with a more distant value.

But the The light and shadow on each element has too much contrast, thats the problem! Youve been very subtle in general values but very violent with the values inside each element (I mean, on the shading of each object).

Go to the tutorials on this website and study the tutorials of Ron Lemen (that skin tones number one) You have to master on that if you want to improve faster.

This looks really nice, especially the detailing of the neck vertebrae. I wish I knew more of what it was about, though.

i don`t know what is exactly is the concept,may be a litlle more work andyou will become better ,love the neck so much

as i said in the wip, this is a very strong piece that you can dig into and speculate about. as for being your first serious painting, i can only say well done, it's a great first step
